This week's SUNDAY was on a Monday, because that's what long weekends feel like. And I missed a week back there too (35) but the world goes on.
We spent most of the day at Nielsen Park, probably one of Sydney's finest beaches. I love it for the mild waves, the old stone steps and the ample grass and shade under the trees so I can lay about reading and eating cheese. These are things I don't like to do in direct sun, on hot sand. We had a birthday celebration for Tola with champagne and Black Star Pastry's watermelon cake (of my dreams). It really is the best cake there is - layers of almond meal, watermelon, strawberries, cream and rosewater with pistachios. It's like if a fairy was a cake that only existed on sweet summer afternoon, THAT would be the cake.
