THE CHANGE

IMG_5678.PNGI'm done now. Done with the sweating and the smelling of coconut suncream and being eaten alive by mosquitos all night long. I want to close windows and sleep with the covers on, I want autumn and winter and weather where I can wear socks. I want to make a roast chook for dinner and drink red wine on Sunday nights. * Socks from No 6 Store.

THE PART WHERE I START THINKING ABOUT AUTUMN

SOCKS 1It's a little grey in Sydney today - by no means cold - but wet and just hinting at the days of autumn, a good month or so away as they are.

I still love all the long days and steamy twilights, but I started thinking today how it always is we long for and welcome that change in season when it comes. It feels like just yesterday I was readying for the heat of summer. And here I am in mid-February, thinking about toasty socks and these pear and hazelnut muffins (which I'll probably make tomorrow anyway).
