That, my friends, is a spreadsheet. I’m taking my NY intentions up a notch this year and tracking and planning my ideas with a bloody timeline. I mean, you know I like a list, a plan, lots of control, but this is a whole other level of silliness. I’ve got 17 goals and quarter milestones for each (JAN / FEB / MAR being the first) . Some of them are year long and pretty basic ideas that don’t have much to them (send more postcards, actually clean my make-up brushes), others need structure and have different steps to get them off the ground (buying a house, overseas research proposals, running yoga classes again). It’s nice to step them out and see what I need to get busy with.
I often think of the Andy Warhol quote, ‘they always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself’. It was one of the reason I started this journal, a record of things and a habit to write, and this SUNDAY series, now five years deep. Time flies; the days drift by but the years are something else. I want to grasp a hold of things, of this precious time and good fortune. It isn’t just about the end-game. I’ve noticed the doing is enough for me, most days - makes me feel happy to be working and moving forward.
