Last week my good friend Vanessa launched her Friday Fourteen newsletter over at Slice, and promptly took up all the tabs in my browser. I love the way Ness internets, and this is a very welcome addition to my long list of newsletter subscriptions. Especially as she put me onto Dinner Document, a kind of classic, original food blog vibe from London with this truly wonderful piece about canteens, and this tahini and brown sugar French toast came not long after, early Sunday morning.
I bought some lovely dark rye from the Central Markets and we doubled the batch. In the end I would have liked a bit more tahini, just for the nutty hell of it, and I dusted more brown sugar both in the pan AND on the plate because that’s the kind of girl I am. We had it with a big pot of coffee and some raspberry, banana and spinach smoothies to try and maintain some semblance of health and I can confirm it’ll all be happening again very soon. So easy, so damn good.
